What is it?
This quinta consists of a ruin that is registered as a house and a flat plot that borders the river Alva. The slate ruin has an area of about 88 m². The house is not habitable. It is unlikely that the construction area may be increased, but there is a good chance that a floor may be built on it. If you would like that, you should check with the municipality.
How are the facilities?
Electricity is about 500 m away. Water will probably have to be obtained through a bore hole.
Any outdoor space?
The corresponding land is about 5,200 m². The soil is flat and suitable for agriculture.
Plots on the river whith a residential destination on it are increasingly scarce. An advantage of this quintinha is the flatness of the plot, which makes it relatively easy to cultivate. The river Alva is known as one of the cleaner rivers in the area. The river does not often leave its banks but it can not be ruled out. This must of course be taken into account.
Where is it?
The plot is just outside the village of Barril de Alva. A good-running restaurant is at about 500 meters. There is also a biological monthly market. The accessibility is good. The last 400 meters are a reasonably flat sandy path. Barril de Alva is a quiet village with a few cafés, a grocery store and a primary school with an alternative teaching method. The lovely village of Côja is about 3 km away. Côja is a lively village with a cozy authentic atmosphere. Most facilities are available on a small scale. There is also a river beach, a campsite and several restaurants. At a distance of about 15 km is Arganil. In this small provincial town all important facilities are present, such as restaurants, shops, supermarkets, post office, banks, medical practice, schools, library and weekly market. The larger city of Coimbra is about 65 km away.
